The foreigner tourist in Brazil - a profile
Below, the results of a survey which portrayed the what foreigner tourists think of Brazil.
Age
The largest group of tourists who visited Brazil in 2002 was aged between 28 and 45 years of age (47.8%); second was group between 46 and 65 years (30.9%).
The table below shows an increase in the participation of youngsters and a decrease of elderly people.

Level of education
About 70% of tourists coming to Brazil in 2002 had a superior education; 26,7% had intermediary education (high school) and only 3,9% had elementary education only.
Profession
The table below shows the occupation of the tourists between 1998 and 2002.
Notice that the table only shows the most frequent groups; these groups account for between 40% and 50% of the total number of travellers.

Income per year
The average income has been decreasing since 1998. Embratur doesn't comment on this fact, but it's probably a indication that the tourism in Brazil is becoming more popular.
