Brazil is the World leader in developing biofuel technology, particulary using ethanol.

In 2006, 80% of the cars produced in Brazil rolled out of factory with flex motors, which work with both gasoline of ethanol.

In January of 2006, Google founders Sergey Brinn and Larry Page visited Brazil, prospecting investment opportunities in the ethanol business.

In March o 2007, President George Bush visited Brazil and the main subject of conversations with President Lula was a partnership USA - Brazil to produce ethanol.
